With the help of World Wide Web, the world has become a global village where you can get in touch with one another with a few key strokes in an email; with a single click on a video chat or even more convenient, a few instant messages on your computer or mobile. With this wonderful technology, it is easier for friends and families who are scattering around the world to be together in spite of the large physical distance in-between. Being able to communicate with the people you care about without a long-term delay, the Internet, claimed by many people in the world as the best invention in the last century, makes you feel connected instead of abandoned or alone.
However, some of us may take the advantage of Internet too far down the road. With the ability to communicate with the people you care about, even with the people you don’t know about, without stepping out of your room, people then start going out less, followed by chatting less without a keyboard present, eventually leading to communicating less with new people outside the Internet. Moreover, there are more and more teenagers fallen into the wrong hands of the criminals, or people getting hurt, financially or physically, by following some well-disguised schemes throughout the Internet without knowing who and how are the people they are actually communicating to.
Therefore, the Internet was a blessed invention to the whole world by bringing people closer to each other. Now the Internet is potential for good or evil, depending on the ones who are using it and what they are using it for.
